In response, Amazon reports blocking over 200 million suspected fake reviews in the past year, thanks to its enhanced detection methods. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill, currently under consideration in the UK parliament, aims to strengthen the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) legal powers in addressing this issue. According to Statista, out of the top 20 leading sellers on the platform, 17 have headquarters in the United Kingdom.
